Visual Resources
The Visual Resources feature of the collection, also known as the Ad Gallery, provides access to hundreds of advertising prints from the 1930s to 60s. Users can filter the images by Industry, Decade, Image Type, or Brand, and the companies featured can all be found within the Dichter reports. The visual material within Market Research and American Business, 1935-1965 therefore provides an insight into the ways in which Dichter's findings were incorporated into popular advertising, in terms of colour, audience and slogans. The chronological scope of the advertisements also enables the user to explore the changing fashions and styles within American culture.
